Interesting Blogs

Minnesota Twins Blogs

Twinkie Town
I selected this area of focus because I love watching the Minnesota Twins and am very interested in baseball.
The names of the players and their positions drew me to this particular blog because I like to know who is on the team and is out on the field.
The blog was visually appealing by including polls and a fair amount of pictures.
The blog is user friendly with links to find news and posts to make it easier to find.
There is a lot of advertisements and writing on the blog that makes it feel crowded. It adds to your thoughts on if it will be time efficient.
I would follow this blog because it keeps information up-to-date, includes details and news that I would be interested in, and is a well-maintained blog.

Twins Target
Both of the blogs seem to have the same information or posts listed, so when you’re browsing and you want to find different information it wouldn’t help very much. They have the amount and names of players that the Minnesota Twins are interested in for the 2011 season too.
This blog has a little space where it lists the other sports teams in Minnesota and the news about them which the other one didn’t. It also includes the professional leagues in this little scroll box too. It doesn’t have the players that are on the roster that I would like to have listed.
I would prefer the Twinkie Town Blog instead of this one because it presents a lot more information, stats, and player’s names on the roster. This blog wasn’t as helpful in that and it wasn’t loaded with a lot of information like the other one was.

Twins Locker-Minnesota Twins Blog
All of the blogs have recent news about the Minnesota Twins. This is a good thing because it can get me informed and the articles aren’t long. They also include the recent players they have signed or are interested in signing.
This blog has links to other MLB blogs and Minnesota sports blogs. Compared to the other blogs this one doesn’t have much information, it only has about three or four paragraphs.
I would prefer the first one over all of the blogs because it had more information than I would use. It relates to a lot of the details I am looking for too. Overall, I think this is a blog I might start checking up on regularly to learn more about what is happening with the team.

Posters

The things I liked about the word poster is it was much faster in completing and you can make the poster look neater and colorful with the features given. The word poster was better than the handmade poster because you can upload images from the internet that add creativeness and you can add a variety of shapes to type your text in with changing the color and lines of the selected shape. On the handmade poster I liked how I could put words in a picture that I drew without having two different colors meet, such as the words "Circle of Fifths" was shown on the handmade poster over the staff without extra white hanging off, but the word poster wouldn't let me change the white to the background color I had.

The things I liked about the glogster poster is you can add creative graphics and can add effects to the image or graphic such as the shadow or blur. The glogster poster was better than the handmade poster because you can display much more color and creativeness that I could ever add myself, no matter how much I worked on it. On the handmade poster I liked how I could set it up exactly the way I want on the layout, but sometimes I couldn't get it to the accurate position I would prefer with glogster. The glogster poster had more options to add attractiveness and creativity than the word poster. The word poster had a lot more font options and colors to insert into text boxes or graphics than the glogster poster, but it wasn't something that took a lot out of the poster.

The medium I liked best was the glogster poster because of the extra features it offered and it made my poster look more appealing. First, I like how there were many different categories to choose from to find what you need and would like for an image or graphic. Next, I enjoyed uploading a picture from the internet and being able to change the color which wasn't possible in the other program. Lastly, the features that you can add to the poster included frames to pictures that gave it a cool view.

Critique

The things I like about Blogger is you can customize it in many different ways. You can add polls and create it how you want and choose a variety of backgrounds or you can put your own in. Also, you can add pictures all around your blog if you want to. Another thing is you can rearrange the order and add gadgets of what you want to display on it.

First Post

The making of the blog was very simple with the tabs displaying options that you can apply to your blog and it seemed organized. Blogs are useful for many things, such as communicating and sharing thoughts and information. They are not useful for displaying harsh comments or anything of that nature.
